Fluid Mechanics
The Computational Flow Physics and Modeling Lab at UW-Madison investigates the dynamics and physics of unsteady fluid flows. Our research has applications in aeronautics, propulsion, bio-inspired flows, environmental flows, and renewable wind/tidal energy.

Computation and Modeling
We utilize and develop various computational techniques, often using high-performance computing, to simulate complex, three-dimensional, and turbulent flows. To analyze and better understand the physics, we also leverage machine learning and data-driven approaches to construct simple or reduced-order models of the fluid flows.
